The mortgage process typically involves several steps in order to obtain a loan to purchase a home.
Here are the general steps involved:

First, we will discuss your payment and downpayment goals. Then we will begin an application online, over the phone, or in person. We may need to review documents related to your credit, income and assets to determine eligibility including how much you may qualify for, estimated interest rate, payment, and down payment.

Myself, and The Mortgage Co., will review your financial information, credit history, and other factors to determine if you are eligible for a loan. If you meet the criteria, you will receive a loan approval, which specifies the amount of the loan, the interest rate, other terms and conditions, and how much you can borrow.

Your Pre-Approval does not expire, however, we may need to update certain credit, income, and asset documents depending on your timeline for purchasing.

We will meet in person to sign the loan documents and finalize the transaction.

Once the loan is closed, you will begin making monthly payments to the lender to repay the loan. The length of the loan and the amount of each payment will depend on the terms of the loan agreement.

Depending on the type of loan, The Mortgage Co., has a team of in-house underwriters and processors who work collaboratively to determine loan eligibility.

The mortgage you can afford depends on your debt-to-income ratio and other factors. I’m happy to help you calculate a number that fits your situation.

You will typically need to provide proof of income (W2s, paystubs, retirement income, etc.) and proof of any other assets you own. Additionally, your credit report will be pulled.

The mortgage application process can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several weeks, depending on your individual circumstances.
